Pearland Lumber Company, located at 2027 N. Main Street in Pearland, Texas started life as a lumber yard named Suttle Lumber Company in May of 1952.  The name was changed in August of 1956 to Pearland Lumber Company and subsequently purchased by the Loessin Family in June of 1958.  During the 1960's Pearland's Lumber Company focused on growth acquiring 10 acres on the northeast corner of Main and Orange Streets to accommodate future growth  and expanding inventory.  Pearland Lumber Company (PLC) then joined Ace Hardware in 1966.  Pearland Lumber Company is presently the oldest Ace affiliated hardware store in Texas.
